A coach picks you up at your San Francisco hotel, gives you an hour among the redwoods at Muir Woods, then pours three included tastings on the way through wine country. Pick it when this is your only free day and you want the big trees and the vineyards together.

This is a long day, about 10 hours, and it packs in a lot. Pickup runs from 7:40 to 8:15 am at 11 San Francisco hotels, in a coach for up to 35 people with air conditioning and Wi-Fi. You cross the Golden Gate Bridge (with a 10-minute photo stop) and spend about an hour in Muir Woods. The entry fee isn't in the price: the National Park Service charges $15 per adult 16 and over in 2026, and under-16s go free.
Then the wine. Read the stops carefully, because the title oversells Napa. Two of the three wineries are in Sonoma: Mayo Family Winery in the Sonoma Valley and Jacuzzi Family Vineyards, where the tasting includes olive oil. The Napa stop is Ru Vango, a Carneros estate on Dealy Lane at the southern edge of Napa, with a tour and tasting. Lunch is free time on Sonoma Plaza, and food is on you unless you buy the three-course pairing upgrade. You won't see Highway 29, Yountville or St. Helena.
Is that a problem? Not if you want a pretty day out. The three tastings are included, which at Napa's $79 average would cost more than the tour on their own. If you came for Napa itself, book a Napa-based tour such as the picnic lunch tour or the half-day trip, whose two wineries are both in Napa County.
From 11 San Francisco hotels. Drop-off is at the same hotel in the evening.
A walk on the boardwalk among old-growth coast redwoods. Pay the $15 entry fee if you're 16 or older.
The first tasting, in the Sonoma Valley.
Free time on the 1835 plaza, with shops, cafes and the old mission. A three-course pairing lunch is an optional upgrade.
A tour and tasting at Ru Vango in Napa's Carneros, then Jacuzzi Family Vineyards in Sonoma, olive oil included.
A 10-minute photo stop at the bridge, then the drive back to your hotel.
