Napa Valley Wine Trolley · Napa
A wooden, open-sided replica of a San Francisco cable car leaves Oxbow Public Market at 10 a.m. and rolls between three Napa wineries, with lunch at one of them. Book it for the ride itself: wind, vineyards on both sides, a guide cracking jokes, and no one in your group stuck behind the wheel.

The trolley is a hand-built copy of a San Francisco cable car, all wood and brass, open at the sides. You board it at 10:00 in front of the parking lot of Oxbow Public Market at 644 First Street in Napa (park in the southeast corner), and it brings you back there about six hours later. A guide rides along and keeps the commentary light.
The day visits three of five wineries on the listing: Backstage Winery, Napa Cellars, Jean Edwards Cellars, Rutherford Ranch and Monticello. That spreads you from Big Ranch Road just north of town up to Oakville and Rutherford, on the main valley floor rather than in Carneros. Lunch is served at one of the stops. In rain, guests report the operator swapping the trolley for a bus.
One thing to sort before you go: fees. The listing's "includes" list names tasting fees, but its "know before you go" section says they aren't included and are paid on the day at each venue. Plan as if you'll pay. Napa's 2026 average is $79 for a standard tasting (SVB report), and three stops can come close to doubling the $145 ticket. Not suitable for wheelchair users or anyone under 21.
Meet in front of the Oxbow Public Market parking lot, 644 First Street. Don't be late: the trolley leaves on time.
One of the five partners, for example Backstage or Monticello on Big Ranch Road.
Lunch is served at one of the wineries on the route.
Further up the valley, for example Napa Cellars in Oakville or Rutherford Ranch.
The trolley returns to the market. Grab a coffee or oysters inside before you drive.

The listing contradicts itself: tasting fees appear in the inclusions, but the practical notes say they are paid on the day at each venue. Budget for them. Napa's 2026 average standard tasting is $79, and our cost guide shows how the total adds up.
Three of these five: Backstage Winery, Napa Cellars, Jean Edwards Cellars, Rutherford Ranch Winery and Monticello Winery. The operator rotates them, so you'll learn your three on the day.
In front of the Oxbow Public Market parking lot at 644 First Street, Napa, at 10:00 am. Parking is in the southeast corner. The tour ends back there after about six hours.
The trolley is open at the sides, so in bad weather the operator may use a bus instead. One guest wrote that they "sent a bus" on a rainy day and still had a good time.
