A private driver-guide collects up to four of you anywhere in San Francisco and takes you to the two or three Napa or Sonoma wineries you choose. It's the tour for people who already have reservations at specific estates and want someone else driving.

The price is $627 per group of up to four, not per person. For a full car that's about $157 each, the same as a seat on a coach. You get six hours with a private car and a driver-guide (English, Portuguese or Spanish), pickup anywhere in San Francisco, tolls and insurance. Extra hours cost $95 each. You pick two or three wineries in Napa or Sonoma, and the guide suggests a place for lunch.
The honest part is the bill on top. Treat tasting fees and lunch as yours to pay: the listing mixes included and optional items, so don't assume either is covered. With Napa's average standard tasting at $79 in 2026, four people at three wineries add roughly $950 before lunch and tips. Sonoma's average is lower, $47 in 2025, which is one reason to put a Sonoma estate in the mix.
Six hours goes fast. The drive from San Francisco to downtown Napa takes about an hour on weekdays and up to two at weekends, according to Visit Napa Valley, which leaves room for two wineries and lunch, three at a push. Book your tasting slots before you book the car; most Napa wineries take visitors by reservation. Food and drink aren't allowed in the car.
The driver collects you from your hotel or address. One guest asked for 9 am and got it.
Across the Golden Gate or the Bay Bridge, depending on your wineries and the traffic.
Your booked tasting. Visit Napa Valley says a winery visit takes at least 90 minutes.
Your guide suggests a spot near your wineries. You pay.
Fit a third in if they're close together, or add an hour at $95.
Drop-off at your hotel or any address in San Francisco.

Yes. You pick two or three wineries in Napa or Sonoma, and the guide suggests a lunch spot. Book the tastings yourself in advance, since many Napa wineries need a reservation.
At a few, yes, but Visit Napa Valley's advice is to assume a reservation is needed. Many estates have county limits on daily visitors. Sonoma is easier for walk-ins.
Treat them as not included. The listing mixes included and optional items, so plan to pay tastings and lunch yourself and confirm with the operator.
